Career Opportunities in Whole Energy Systems

Shape the future of whole energy systems and solutions

At PNDC, we leverage our highly-skilled research team and academic connections with the University of Strathclyde combined with our state-of-the-art, fully comprehensive whole energy system network assets and simulation systems to bridge the gap between ideas and deployment.

We have recognised the need for an innovation environment to support the development, de-risking and acceleration of whole energy system technology solutions and services to simulate and provide real-world validation of the wide range of critical functionalities required for the future energy system.

Currently, we are implementing plans to grow our capabilities and develop our facilities, including research activities incorporating electricity, heat, transport and hydrogen, to complement the existing smart grid activities.

Through investment, strategic partnerships and cross-sector collaboration, PNDC is involved in innovation projects including:

The decarbonisation of heavy-duty vehicles through battery electrification and charging technology. Developed by the Scottish Government in partnership with PNDC and the Hydrogen Accelerator at the University of St Andrews, the project focuses on accelerating the low carbon economy and local mobility supply chain growth.

The Whole Energy Systems Accelerator (WESA) is a world-first energy innovation ecosystem, a collaboration agreement between PNDC and the Energy System Catapult’s the Living Lab.

DER-IC Scotland, high power integrated electrical propulsion and powertrain accelerator supporting development, manufacturing and testing of Megawatt (MW) scale PEMD for high power applications in Transport (Marine, Aerospace, Off-Highway, Rail and Truck/Bus) and Energy through expansion of the existing multi-MW power hardware in the loop testing capability at PNDC.

PNDC’s evolution into whole energy system positioning is already underway. An essential component in driving our whole systems strategy is the recruitment of outstanding individuals to join a diverse and internationally represented team, combining a wealth of ideas and global expertise.
