Within the framework of the Decarbonisation of Transport focus area, the Electrification of Transport Innovation Forum provides a platform for developing and de-risking the technologies, processes, and finance models required to enable a transition to zero emission vehicles at the lowest cost in a timescale compatible with net zero. Additionally, PNDC is an integral part of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funded Driving the Electric Revolution Centres (DER-IC) – Scotland, which is established through academic partnerships to advance innovation in transport decarbonisation through cross-sector collaboration and coordination with businesses across various industries.
Innovation Areas
Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Infrastructure Testing & Demonstration
Flexibility, grid services and smart charging strategies for electrified transport
Combined energy & transport network forward investment and infrastructure coordination
Digitalisation, data & tools for energy and transport
Test Assets & Capabilities
PNDC develops and de-risks the technologies, planning and operational processes, and finance models required to enable the transition to zero emission vehicles at the lowest cost to consumers in a timescale compatible with net zero targets. We do this by coordinating energy network and transport industry stakeholders to collaborate on innovation and infrastructure deployment, utilising PNDC’s physical and virtual test environment for industry partners to create integrated systems for electric and other alternative fuel vehicles.
