Research and Development Engineer (Power Systems & Protection) (ref: 573493)

Salary range: £36,024 – £44,263

Term: Fixed Term (24 months)

Hours: Full-time equivalent (FTE) – 35 hours/week

Closing date: Friday 20th September 2024

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in power system modelling, conducting power system studies, and working with protection schemes, acquired through roles in industry and academia. The postholder is expected to have experience delivering research and development projects in collaboration with industry and hands-on experience designing, implementing, and testing protection schemes to ensure a secure and resilient electricity supply.

The postholder must have excellent technical writing and strong communication skills, as well as be a self-starter capable of planning, conducting, and coordinating research and knowledge exchange activities with minimal supervision. Additionally, a proven ability to generate new ideas and concepts while effectively working in a dynamically changing team environment is a must.
