Venturing outside the world of engineering for just a moment, we get to know the person behind the posts, our Marketing & Communications Officer – Eva Milroy.

Tell us about your role at the PNDC.

I am the Marketing & Communications Officer here at the PNDC and I am responsible for all marketing and communications activity for the centre. This includes coming up with engaging content for our followers on social media, members, staff and potential members/clients. It also includes building an awareness of the PNDC, looking after the brand and being the voice of the centre.

How long have you been working here?

I started working at the PNDC in November 2019, therefore I am fairly new. However every week is flying in!

What was your background before joining the PNDC?

I graduated with a degree in marketing from Glasgow Caledonian University. I then accepted a place on ScottishPower’s Graduate Scheme where I completed a two year placement in the Stakeholder Engagement & Communications team within their networks business (SP Energy Networks), who also happen to be one of our Tier 1 and founding members!

What do you enjoy most about working at the PNDC?

That everyone who is part of the centre (staff, members, clients, partners) are all working towards creating a better, smarter whole-energy system for the future. You get to see and hear about lots of innovative things that are the solutions to many challenges society faces with decarbonisation. The PNDC is at the heart of helping others make their solutions a quicker reality.

What can we find you doing with your spare time?

I like to be as creative as possible. I have completed many short courses such as screen printing, makeup, textiles, photography and life drawing. I also like to travel, cook, eat out and go to live events like concerts.

I have most recently just spent three weeks in Thailand. My favourite place there was the Phi Phi Islands (pictured below).
