Please tell us about your role at PNDC
My role at PNDC is R&D Engineer (Power Systems, Protection, and Validation), and I’m part of the Advanced Power and Control team.
What was your background before joining PNDC?
I completed my PhD at the University of Strathclyde as a member of the Dynamic Power System Laboratory (DPSL). During my PhD, I worked on the integrity protection of DC microgrids, focusing on the identification, control, and mitigation of disturbances in DC microgrids. I also served as a Research Assistant, where I was involved in the assessment of environmental input on the line rating in the UK grid, sponsored by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN).
What made you wish to join PNDC?
After coming straight out of academia, I was looking for a place that combines both academic and industry experience, where I could contribute to innovative projects in the power sector and support efforts towards net-zero. PNDC is the perfect fit. It’s a welcoming and diverse environment that offers great opportunities for learning and growth with state-of-the-art equipment and talented teams.
What can we find you doing in your spare time?
I have passion for all sports, but I particularly enjoy watching football and tennis when they are live in play. Apart from sport, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends, whether it’s sharing a meal, enjoying a game night, or simply chatting and laughing together. These moments create lasting memories that I truly value.
