Please tell us about your role at PNDC
I am a System Hardware and Data Integration Engineer at PNDC. As required by the role, I work for different projects involving research on the modern wired or wireless communication areas including IoT, IIoT, 5G leading towards 6G, NB-IoT, fibre optics and OT/IT convergence. Generally, the aim of the projects is to provide reliability, security, low latency, high power generation, low cost, bandwidth efficiency and high quality of service.
How long have you worked at PNDC?
7 months at the time of publication (I joined in September 2020).
What was your background before joining PNDC?
I have been a PhD student and a research engineer at National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk, Russia. I am going to graduate in August 2021. I also worked as a research associate in Sri Lanka Technological Campus, Colombo. My research interests are 5G wireless communication, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, tactile internet, digital twin and cyber security. I have also been involved in other academic activities.
What do you enjoy most about working at PNDC?
The friendly and professional environment at PNDC is quite impressive. The staff are very nice and cooperative. There are opportunities to grow and succeed, so I enjoy working at PNDC.
What can we find you doing in your spare time?
You will find me reading, googling, watching movies, walking, running, singing, shopping, cleaning, travelling, talking, cooking and eating.
